Featured Exhibit:
A New Generation of Victory Gardens & Hands on Workshops

Beginning this July 4th, and continuing every day at 2:30, there will be new programs in the Victory Garden at Strawbery Banke. The programs are free with regular museum admission, and designed to connect visitors to the hands on history that helped families bring their own back yards and kitchens to life with an abundance of produce during World War II.
In contrast to the present, when children are said to be suffering from "nature deficit disorder", and our landscapes are taken up with vast lawns, these programs are designed to teach the skills to create organic gardens, prepare and preserve the produce we grow, and save the seeds we cultivate.
